Website on travel, hospitality launched

SHILLONG: A Shillong-based firm, Batuta, with focus on promoting tourism and hospitality sector, has launched a website for tourists and tourism service providers of the state — visitshillong.com — on the occasion of World Tourism Day on Friday.
Addressing a press conference on Friday, member of Batuta, Benny Lyngdoh said the firm has conducted a research on market and the need of developing the tourism sector in the state as he found that the tourism sector in the state is unorganised.
Customers can book holidays, join events and get relevant information through the website from their computers as well as mobile phones, he said.
