Awareness on heart disease

Shillong : AROH foundation team supported by HDFC bank Ltd organised World Heart Day at Laitumiong village on September 30 at Community hall of Laitumiong village. The day was observed to scale up the prevention of heart disease.
The aim of the event was to create awareness among people on the importance of heart disease.
It started with a welcome speech from Headman of the village and Aganwadi worker of Laitumiong. The students, teachers and people from the area participated in the programme.
Banrity hosted the programme and the resource person Dr. Rynthathiang did an awareness session from PHC Swer. She explained as to why World Heart Day is observed worldwide.
She added heart disease or heart attack is one of the rare diseases that are found in human beings, people from the rural areas lack awareness of the symptoms, and therefore most of them take it lightly for regular checkups.
She also explained the signs, symptom, and ways to prevent from heart attack/heart diseases.
