Talk & Tune evening
SHILLONG: MakeSomeoneSMILE team and singer Sidhant Deb, in association with 10 talents, organised a ‘Talk & Tune’ evening in Dylans Café on Saturday. During the evening, everyone narrated their story, inspiration notes, learnings, experiences along with soulful music. The whole idea of the evening was also to apprise and educate the audience on plastic usage, environment, social needs and value of life. The evening saw a massive response engaging with the talks and tunes, and the crowd joining in for the promise to contribute towards society, humanity and environment.

De-worming on Oct 25 in WGH 

TURA: West Garo Hills district along with the rest of the state will be conducting the 2nd round of National De-worming Day (NDD) on October 25 with a mop up round on October 31 for children who miss the de-worming. The objective of NDD is to de-worm all pre-school and school-age children between 1 to 19 years in order to improve their overall health, nutritional status, access to education and quality of life. As part of the preparation for NDD, a district-level coordination meeting among the Health department, ICDS, Education, Water and Sanitation was held on October 11 under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner of the district, Ram Singh. All school heads, teachers, parents, caregivers, AWW, ASHAs, Nokma’s and VHSNC members have been requested to be actively involved so as to ensure all children are de-wormed on the day.
