SD Khongwir conveys condolence

SHILLONG: Former MLA and headman of Mawlai Nonglum, SD Khongwir conveyed his condolences upon the demise of Archbishop Dominic Jala.
In a statement issued here, he said that the passing away of Jala is a loss not only to the church but to the tribal community as a whole as Jala was known to be a humble man. (Contd. on P-10)

(Contd. from P-3) He recalled that on September 3, 1980, Jala had waited for Khongwir and his wife at the Railway Station in Rome and arranged a hotel for them to stay in.
“Whenever we would meet in Shillong, he would remind me and say that we are both from Mawlai” Khongwir said.
