Rice released
The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), West Garo Hills, Tura informed that PHH and AAY rice for beneficiaries for October in respect of Tura urban and rural based fair price shop dealers has been released. In this regard, all fair price shop dealers have been directed to issue rice as per government prescribed scale of 5 kg per head per month for PHH beneficiaries and 35 kgs per card per month for AAY beneficiaries at the rate of Rs. 3 per kg under NFSA, 2013.

General meet
The general meeting of the Meghalaya Transport Workers Union was held on October 11 in which the union elected its office bearers. Erwin Sutnga was elected as president, Austin N. Sangma and Aprilla Lyngdoh as vice presidents, Pynhunlang Kharshiing as general secretary, Tyngshain Lyngdoh as assistant secretary, Patricia G. Momin as organising secretary, Market Wankhar as working president, Topash Dey as treasurer and Louis Nongrum as advisor. There were 11 executive members of the union.
