Shillong: The A’chik Youth Welfare Organisation, Mendipathar Regional branch, North Garo Hills in a press statement has alleged scam over a school building fund in Mendipathar.
It stated that the fund has been given to Mendipathar Secondary School (previously named Assamese school) from the Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources in 2009.
The contract was given to Devi Bala Boro, a first class contractor from Katholbari, Tikkirkila, West Garo Hills.
AYWO, however, said that the condition of the building is the same even after 10 years.
The youth organisation also met the managing committee members of the school but no valid information was given to them.
They demanded of the state government to take necessary action against the people involved in the school building scam.
