Shillong: A two-day national conference titled ‘Relevance of Gandhi Philosophy of Universal Uplift (Sarvodaya) in Contemporary World’, which was organised by William Carey University at Umkdiat, Nongmynsong — to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi — concluded on Friday with enthusiastic participation from renowned academicians from the North East.
Meghalaya Home Minister, James P.K. Sangma, inaugurated the National Conference which was then followed by a keynote address by Associate Professor, Department of Philosophy of North Eastern Hill University Prasenjit Biswas.
Inaugurating the National Conference, Sangma said that Gandhiji served as the most influential non-religious leader, who gave inspiration for everyone in the world.
