Two arrested for stealing
Wanbet Rapsang lodged a complaint that on October 18, he spotted one unidentified person inside his Maruti car (ML-05G-9273) which was parked near his residence at Mawlai Mawdatbaki Nongmali-I, Shillong. On seeing the complainant, the accused person drove the vehicle away, however, the vehicle was later found abandoned near Meter Factory, Lumjingshai, Forest Colony, Shillong. Finally, the accused, identified as Baniaineh L Nonglait (25) along with his accomplice Wanshembhalang Khongmalai (24) were apprehended, while they were attempting to sell the car tape at Polo Bazar, Shillong.

Caught red-handed
Moi Phawa lodged a complaint that on October 17, one Luckybirth Shabong was caught red-handed while stealing cash Rs 5,52,252 from her residence at Nongthymmai, Nongkhyriem.

Attempt to steal batteries
Pangduranga Prasad, SDE, BSNL, Jowai West Jaintia Hills lodged a complaint that on October 19, around 1.30 am, five miscreants in a tourist Maruti Swift Dzire (AS-01HC-5230) attempted to steal batteries from Ialong mobile tower, West Jaintia Hills. However, on being spotted by the local residents, the miscreants abandoned the batteries and the vehicle and fled away.

LED lights stolen
Ranjit Mallik lodged a complaint that on October 18, miscreants stole four LED Flood Lights which were installed on the perimeter wall at Shillong Airport, Umroi, Ri Bhoi.

Electric motor missing
Sr. Ileen of St. Joseph Hospital, Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills lodged a complaint on October 17 that miscreants stole one electric motor valued around Rs 10,000 from St. Joseph Hospital, Tiehsaw, West Khasi Hills.

Duped
Duana Anne Kharkongor lodged a complaint that Donard William, whom the complainant has befriended through internet, cheated her of Rs 36,000.
