SHILLONG: The India Meteorological Department, Meteorological Centre, Shillong has issued a warning that different parts of the state may witness heavy rainfall over the next two days. In a statement, the centre said that a cyclonic circulation over central Assam and the neighborhood is persisting and now it has extended upto 0.9 km above mean sea level.
The current Meteorological analysis and numerical model guidance suggested commencement of significant rainfall activity with widespread rainfall over Meghalaya till October 26, the statement said.
The city has been witnessing rain and depression since Wednesday night, which has also led to the dipping of the temperature. On Thursday, the minimum temperature in Shillong was 10.1 degree Celsius.
