TURA: An inquiry has been sought into the formation of school managing committees under Dadenggre Civil Sub-Division after one such committee which was returned on account of the school not producing signatures of MC members was later approved by the Dadenggre SDSEO.
According to a statement issued by one, Nazmul Hashan, the constitution of a managing committee for Lal Mati Ghat Government LP School was returned by the West Garo Hills District School Education Officer (DSEO) on October 16 last year. Interestingly, this same MC was later approved by Dadenggre SDSEO Ela Begum Laskar on March 7 this year.
Along with the statement, the return order by the DSEO as well as the order approving the formation of the Lal Mati Ghat Government LP School MC by the SDSEO was submitted to this office.
Besides Lal Mati Ghat Government LP School, the MCs of 16 other schools were at the time returned by the West Garo Hills DSEO for the same reason.
With one of the SMCs from among those that were returned being approved, there is suspicion that MCs of other schools under the civil sub-division may have been approved in the same way without the knowledge of higher authorities.
“This order by the DSEO contradicts the order of the West Garo Hills DSEO. This has to be inquired by the government and a follow up of all the 16 SMCs should be done to find out whether they too have been approved in the same way,” Hashan demanded.
