SHILLONG: A man in search of his wife and daughter is seeking help after they went missing from the city over two months ago.
Though he filed an FIR regarding the missing persons at Laitumkhrah police station, no pro-active steps were taken on the part of the police.
The man identified as Amar Kuri said that on August 24, he had lodged a complaint with the police stating that on August 13 around 3 pm, without informing him, his wife Bapiya Kuri (32) left their home in Nongrimbah, Block I, Laitumkhrah along with his nine-year-old daughter, Anjali.
He had also provided the description of the missing duo in the FIR.
“I had gone to the police authorities but since there was no breakthrough into the missing case, I am running from pillar to post seeking assistance”, he said.
According to Amar, he had doubted a person who used to frequent their house and his name was given to the police but in vain.
Amar said that he strongly suspected that his wife and daughter may have been taken to RK Puram in Delhi by the person from Rynjah RR Colony who had also resided in Nongmensong.
Amar says the man may have connections in Delhi.
“I am helpless. I have searched everywhere and I am eagerly waiting for the return of my wife and daughter. This has also affected the education of my daughter”, he said.
Amar said that there had been no quarrel between him and his wife and that he does not know the reason why she left.
Amar also informed that he is now left with his son who was hospitalised following the incident.
