SHILLONG: The Department of Physiotherapy, School of Allied Health Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, Meghalaya, organised a one-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) on ‘Recent Advances in Physiotherapy’ on Thursday.
The programme was graced by renowned physiotherapists and medical practitioners namely Firoz Ahmed, MS Ortho, Health City Hospital, Guwahati, Ankur Jyoti Bora, (PT) Head, Physiotherapy Department, Jorhat Medical College and Rituraj Bailung Sonowal, (PT) Head, PMR Department, Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.
While interacting with the students of the university, Firoz spoke on the role of physiotherapy in orthopedics and its benefits, whereas Ankur Jyoti Bora spoke on tapping in Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome and Rituraj spoke about the Practical Hand on Demonstration.
As many as 113 participants, which included students and faculty members of the university, were present during the programme.
Later, the students, during the programme, were also given the opportunity to have a live demonstration on Physiotherapeutic Techniques and Modalities.
