CM holds series of review meetings

SHILLONG: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma held a series of review meetings via video conference on Tuesday.
In the meeting held with C&RD department officials, the ongoing scheme of the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, including issues relating to identification of villages and functioning of VECs, was reviewed.
Another review meeting was held with the Commerce and Industries Department to assess the progress of the Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme in the state. The chief minister directed all concerned for better coordination and proactive engagement to meet targets in a time-bound manner.
The chief minister also held a meeting with the Sports and Youth Affairs Department to review its projects and programmes with special focus on Meghalaya Football Mission.
In the meeting, the chief minister also reviewed the progress of the grassroots training centres that are functioning in districts across the state for training of children between the age of 6 and 12 years to skill them in the sport.
