SHILLONG: The Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills District has imposed traffic arrangements by listing some stretches in the city as ‘No Parking’ zones in the interest of public safety and convenience with immediate effect from November 1.
The Jackson Trace Road (one-way road), Lower Lumparing starting from St. John Church, Laban up to Dorbar Hall, Lower Lumparing will be a ‘No Parking’ zone in view of narrow road which also causes obstruction to emergency services. The Streamlet Road, Laban starting from Dhobighat Bridge up to Red Cross Junction road will be ‘No Parking’ zone.
The Rilbong road starting from Garrison Bridge up to MGCC building has been marked as ‘No Parking’ zone in view of narrowness of the road and the same being a two-way road.
Keeping in mind the narrowness of the Captain Clifford Nongrum road at Oxford Hills, which is also a one-way road, it has been listed by the SP as a ‘No Parking’ zone starting from Oxford Hills Transformer point up to Dunoon Compound road.
