SHILLONG: The HQ Eastern Air Command commemorated its diamond jubilee this year by hosting a series of events.
A community lunch for the air warriors and their families was organised on Saturday in which Air Marshal RD Mathur welcomed veteran football player Baichung Bhutia who graced the occasion as the chief guest.
In his address to the gathering, Bhutia thanked the Indian Air Force for their services and spoke about how the Subroto Mukherjee Football tournament organised by the IAF proved to be the stepping stone in his illustrious football career.
