NEHU hosts entrepreneurship session

SHILLONG: Karmyo Foundation, Pune in association with Shillong Chapter, Indian Science Congress Association, Kolkata and Incubation Centre, NEHU organised a practical entrepreneurship session in NEHU Campus Shillong on Saturday.
The seven-hour long session started by an inauguration ceremony,  wherein B. Panda, Dean, SEMIS spoke about the importance of the programme with an aim to train and build a team of budding entrepreneurs.
Prof. Devesh Walia, Convener,  Shillong Chapter, Indian Science Congress Association stressed the need to come out of the shell and lead the life with confidence and added that one should try to become the job provider.
Anshumaan, the founder of Karmyo Foundation addressed the students and encouraged them to take the path of entrepreneurship and innovation.
During the day, the students generated several innovative startup ideas and created business plans in small teams.
There were a wide range of ideas such as a ‘crowdfunding platform for independent musicians’, a platform for student jobs and a ‘recycling service for e-commerce packaging’.
All the teams pitched their ideas and received feedback from the experts. The programme ended with the valedictory function.
