Youth body conducts beauty pageant

SHILLONG: A youth service centre under the name Youth Organization on a Trialblazing Society (YOOTS) was recently launched with an aim to engage local youths in civic, cultural, social and economic life.
To mark the launch of the YOOTS, the organisation hosted a beauty pageant called ‘Mr and Miss Earth Meghalaya 2019’.
This objective of the event was to fortify the confidence of the participants and to help them in developing a sense of responsibility towards themselves and their culture.
SA Rynjah, SP (City) attended the event as the chief guest along with C Varghese, founder-cum-principal of Christ School International as the guest of honour and other dignitaries.  Mayalangika Lyngdoh Mawphlang was crowned the winner of Miss Earth Meghalaya followed by first runner-up Daphisha Dkhar and second runner-up Agilenna Mylliemngap.
Nangiohshwa Shadap won the title of Mr Earth Meghalaya followed by first runner-up Pankaj Rawani.
