Medicity may tie up with state for health care

SHILLONG: Chairman and Managing Director of Medanta Medicity Hospital, Gurgaon, Naresh Trehan has expressed his desire for providing health care to the state and employment opportunities to nurses from Meghalaya.
The offer was made when Health Minister AL Hek met Trehan in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The proposal for empanelment of Medanta Medicity as a Super Speciality Referral Centre for the state as part of government employees’ reimbursement scheme also figured in the meeting.
Hel also discussed with Trehan the Meghalaya End TB Campaign which is a CSR initiative of Medanta Medicity with the government of Meghalaya.
He discussed the way forward and date of launching the initiative.
Earlier, Hek attended the ‘2019 World Conference on Access to Medical Products- achieving the Sustainable Development Goals 2030’. The programme was jointly organised by the Union Ministry of Health and Family and World Health Organisation (WHO) and attended by Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Harsh Vardhan as chief guest.
The conference focused on the theme of universal health coverage and reliable access to medical products which are effective, safe, quality assured and affordable.  Hek also met the Union minister separately on the sidelines of the event.
