SHILLONG: The general secretary of Youth Congress Fernandez Dkhar said that NPP and BJP should be sad about the state of affairs in the state.
In response to the statement of NPP youth working president Nickey Nongkhlaw, Dkhar said on Friday that it was the UDP which promised a new Meghalaya.
“But people have to think twice to purchase their daily household needs due to the current financial position,” he said.
Dkhar wanted to know about the promise to the SSA teachers to provide salary every month.
In the past four months, things have moved from bad to worse. PWD and PHE muster roll workers have not received their dues for the past five months, he said.
“We came to know that all departments have been asked to refund their unspent balances which is a step that has never been done in the past 20 years. No funds (LoA) has been granted to all departments since June 2019,” he said.
According to Dkhar, the Congress from 2014 to 2018 gave better service to the state and the people even after the formation of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre.
Dkhar said every citizen has the right to question the actions and inactions of the chief minister when it comes to protecting the interest and image of the state and there is nothing personal.
Dkhar also pointed out that last year MLA scheme was sanctioned before November but for 2019, it is yet to be released.
He also questioned the chief minister as to what he has achieved after meeting Prime Minister, Coal Minister and others on the coal issue. Dkhar also said the Centre has not come to the state’s aid on financial crunch.
