Teachers accuse VC of violating rules

SHILLONG: North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) Vice chancellor SK Srivastava has asserted that the truth will prevail in matters relating to the university.
Talking to media persons recently, Srivastava said that he is no one to answer on somebody’s allegations.
It may be mentioned that the North-Eastern Hill University Teachers’ Association (NEHUTA) last month had even organised a ‘silent protest’ to express their resentment over the ‘failure’ of Srivastava to address issues concerning the teaching fraternity. However, Srivastava said that the teachers are his good friends and are like family members. The teaching community is not happy with the ‘style of functioning’ of the vice chancellor.
When asked if there should be an inquiry into all the allegations, he said that it’s not for him to decide and he is on the path of truth. He, however, added that the teachers should not have boycotted the convocation as the function was meant for the students.
