MSL 2019: Lajong, Lawbah record big wins

Shillong Lajong FC slap Umkaber SC 8-1

Shillong: The second day of the Meghalaya State League 2019 witnessed six matches, with high octane entertainment across four venues.
In Jowai, Shillong Lajong conceded early, but stormed back with two goals in the first half and six more in the second to win 8-1 over Umkaber. Lawbah then followed with a 5-1 win over Royal FC of Sohra thanks to a hat-trick by Roikhihbha Nongtdu in Group A. Lajong will play their next Group A match of the MSL on November 30 against Lawbah Sports Club at 1:30pm in Kiang Nangbah Stadium, Jowai.
Over in Resubelpara, wildcard Niaw Wasa, who entered MSL 2019 by making it through the playoffs, came from a goal down to edge Resu Conventus 2-1 in Group D.
Group B also saw good action, with Mynthong of West Jaintia Hills defeating Sutnga of East Jaintia Hills 3-1 in the morning fixture, while Umladkhur blanked Jalaphet Bri-Sumer 2-0 in the afternoon.
Finally, in Mawkyrwat, Nongdaju Seng Samla took the lead in the second half through Skhembok Hashah (66′) against Khliehmawlieh Youth Club, but the latter’s Pynbhabok Marngar equalised in the 90th minute to ensure that points were shared between the Group C clubs.
