Lumniwar hammer Umrit 4-0

SHILLONG: Lumniwar started their Meghalaya State League 2019 campaign with a resounding 4-0 victory over Umrit in Group A, in Jowai on Friday.
Michael Marwein scored a hat-trick in the only match of the day, pumping in goals in the 3rd, 38th and 69th minutes at the Kiang Nangbah Stadium. Rickyson Makdoh added a fourth in the 84th minute and Lumniwar were also able to keep a clean sheet. Marwein was deservedly adjudged to be the man-of-the-match.
On Saturday, 16 teams will be in action, with two games to be played in each of the four venues.

Group A (Jowai) – Royal FC vs Umkaber (10.30am); Lawbah vs Shillong Lajong (1.30 pm)
Group B (Khliehriat) – Jalaphet Bri-Sumer vs Iatyllilang Lumsehkot (10.30am); Mynthong vs Umladkhur (1.30pm)
Group C (Mawkyrwat) – Rangdajied United vs Madan Bynther (10.30am); Mawkohphet vs Nongdaju Seng Samla (1.30pm)
Group D (Resubelpara) – Salaram vs Niaw Wasa (10.30am); Druma Sandruma vs Garo Warriors (1.30pm).
