Coal-laden trucks found
On November 30, police detected three abandoned coal-laden trucks (AS-01KC-8785, ML-06-7885, ML-10C-0635) at Mairang, West Khasi Hills, involved in illegal coal transportation in violation of NGT order.
One held for break-in
Metilda Suting lodged a complaint that on December 1, around 2.30 pm, Banrap Jyrwa was apprehended for illegally entering her residence at Rngi Jynriew, Nongthymmai, Shillong, with the intention to commit theft.
Assault
On December 1, around 10.30 pm, while Andy Rynjah, Rickson Marbaniang, Samsher Ali and Dinesh Bharati were walking at Keating Road, Shillong, several people attacked them with iron rods. As a result, Andy Rynjah and Rickson Marbaniang sustained injuries and were shifted to CH Shillong and NEIGRIHMS, respectively.
Daminotbha Mawrie lodged a complaint that on December 1, around 9.30 pm, miscreants attempted to pick up a fight with one of his labourers at Keating Road, Shillong. However, his the labourer managed to escape. Later, more than ten miscreants went to his worksite at MEDA Infrastructure, Keating Road, Shillong and attacked his labourers, who managed to chase the miscreants away and also apprehended three of them.
Pickpocket nabbed
Anant Anya, on November 30, around 2.15 pm, along with others apprehended a pickpocket and recovered from his possession a purse of the complainant, which the pickpocket had earlier snatched at Police Bazar, Shillong.
Illegal money collection
On November 30 evening, police apprehended Samkupar Tron (29), while he was delivering a demand letter and collecting money on behalf of HANM at Iewduh (Basa Soh), Shillong.
Mobile phones stolen
Ankita Chetia of Orion Girls Hostel, Laitumkhrah, Shillong lodged a complaint that on November 29, around 5 pm, miscreants entered her room at the hostel and stole two mobile phones.
Batteries missing
Christopher Syiemlieh lodged a complaint that on November 30 morning, he found that twenty-four batteries valued around Rs. 1,50,000 were missing from Airtel tower at Mawlong village, Ri Bhoi.
Bankitbor Syngkli lodged a complaint that on November 30, twenty-one batteries were found stolen from BSNL tower at Umdihar village, Ri Bhoi.
Smear campaign
Niandro Syiemiong, Syiem of Maharam Syiemship, South West Khasi Hills lodged a complaint that unknown persons launched a smear campaign against him in the social media, damaging his reputation.
Theft
On November 27, miscreants stole one water pump belonging to Tenderson Hynniewta from Lum Sainar, Umtrew Ri Bhoi.
