Farmers’ plight

SHILLONG: The Federation of Khasi Jaintia Garo People (FKJGP) central body along with the FKJGP Agriculture Cell East Khasi Hills and the Khasi Jaintia Fresh Vegetable Supplier Association and the farmers met the Director of Agriculture to discuss on various issues.
In a statement issued here, the organisations discussed on availability of seeds, irrigation facilities and fertilizers.
The farmers said that the absence of field staff from the agriculture department in many Blocks has posed difficulties for the farmers also.
