Guv donates to Armed Forces Flag Day Fund

SHILLONG: Governor Tathagata Roy invited the Director Sainik Welfare along with veterans and veernaris for interaction as he made a donation to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund at Raj Bhawan on Tuesday.
The governor, in his message, said this occasion is intended to honour the martyrs, to salute the veterans and to renew our solidarity with our Armed Forces personnel.
It may be mentioned that the Armed Forces Flag Day is observed every year on December 7 in honour of the soldiers who have made the sacrifice in the line of duty to safeguard the nation.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has directed that this year, the Armed Forces Flag Day will be celebrated for a week.
