SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) on Thursday expressed anguish and concern on Wednesday over the passage of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill (CAB) in the Parliament on Wednesday.
In a release, the party’s state president Jamil Ahmed, condemning the passage, wrote a letter to LJP’s national president Chirag Paswan and requested to use the latter’s influence to not allow the Bill to become an Act.
Ahmed had also demanded for the Inner Line Permit (ILP) for the state.
