SHILLONG: The Mrong Mahari Association (MMA), Tura, organised a ‘Run for Unity’ with an objective to reform the “unity of strength for its members”.
The event, which was flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills, Ram Singh, was attended by hundreds of participants form the Mrong clan.
The DC had also distributed prizes to the winners at the event.

The Shillong Times first appeared as a tabloid weekly on 10th August 1945 under the editorship of Late Sudhindra Bhusan Chaudhuri. In 1958 it was converted to a Daily. Owing to financial constraints, within six months it reverted back to a weekly.
