Kerosene bomb attack on SWKH govt office

MAWKYRWAT: Miscreants have attempted to burn down the temporary office of the District School Education Officer (DSEO) here.
The chawkidar of DSEO office, Albertson Lyngkhoi, and the chawkidar of the Sub-Divisional School Educational Officer, Sissila Khriem, informed that the incident took place around 1 am on Saturday, when a group of people barged into the DSEO office and threw two kerosene bombs but the bottles broke and the fire did not spread.
Lyngkhoi said he did not hear the miscreants enter or throw the bottles as he was asleep.
He said he found out about the incident around 10 am on Sunday morning and informed SDSEO John Thyrniang and the police.
) Khriem, who sleeps in the SDSEO office adjacent to the DSEO building, said she heard the miscreants but mistook them to be patrolling team.
Thyrniang said that after talking to Deputy Commissioner Isawanda Laloo, he filed an FIR and he has instructed the chawkidars to be alert and stay in the offices round the clock to prevent any untoward incidents.
