KMSS leader Akhil sent to 10 days NIA custody

GUWAHATI: The NIA court here remanded Akhil Gogoi, leader of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samity (KMSS) to ten days’ NIA custody on his production before the court here on Tuesday.

Akhil Gogoi was arrested in connection with a Chandmari police station case (18/19) from Jorhat in eastern Assam on December 12. The case has been registered against him under sections 120(A), 120(B), 153(A) and 153(B) of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

The KMSS leader was leading protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in eastern Assam areas.
