Shillong: Rangdajied United will face Shillong Lajong in the final of the Meghalaya State League 2019 after both teams came through their respective second leg semifinal fixtures on Tuesday.
In Mawkyrwat, Rangdajied defeated Sutnga 6-1. Their first leg meeting had ended 0-0 in Khliehriat on Saturday. In Resubelpara, Lajong dominated Druma Sandruma once again, winning by an incredible 11-1 margin to take the aggregate to 21-2. SLFC had won their first leg fixture 10-1 in Jowai on Friday. Man-of-the-match Phrangki Buam scored a double hat-trick for Lajong, pumping in goals in the 26th, 30th, 36th, 42nd, 69th and 75th minutes as Druma had no answer to the Lajong juggernaut. Samuel Lyngdoh Kynshi also bagged a hat-trick (17′, 64′, 87′) while there were solitary goals for captain Kenstar Kharshong (82′) and Dajiedlang Wanshnong (84′). Bising Marak scored the lone goal for the hosts in the 32nd minute.
The Mawkyrwat match saw six different players score for Rangdajied. Aiborlang Khongjee converted a penalty in the ninth minute, followed by goals for Donlad Diengdoh (23′) and Aenam Jyrwa (33′) to make it 3-0 at the end of the first half. The final of the second season of the MSL will thus be between two of the biggest Shillong-based clubs and will be held on 21 December.
