HYC expresses concern over Jio towers’ non-activation
NONGSTOIN: The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) Maweit circle has expressed concern over the non-activation of Jio mobile tower in Maweit area. The Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited has installed many towers in Maweit but not a single one of them is activated and operational. President HYC Maweit Circle, Jeremiia Dkhar, told the pressmen here that since the installation of Jio towers in Maweit area, people have been happy knowing that it will solve the communication problem in the area. The HYC has demanded from the company to activate all the Jio-based mobile towers in Maweit area within three days, adding that the council will take necessary action against the concern authority if the company fails to respond.
Training programme under way
NONGSTOIN: The Porniangkhong Sport Social & Cultural Club has organised a three-day training on ‘Training in Youth Leadership & Community Development’ which commenced on Thursday. The training, sponsored by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Nongstoin, was attended by District Youth Coordinator of NYK, Nongstoin, D Rapsang; representative from executive Dorbar of Upper New Nongstoin, HD Nongsiej, among others. More than 46 youths from different villages of West Khasi Hills district had also attended the programme.
