SHILLONG: While the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly was unanimously passing a resolution to urge the Centre to implement Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the state, sporadic cases of stone pelting on some shops reportedly took place in the city.
Police sources said one of the shops in Umsohsun was pelted with stones as well as one of the offices near IGP Point.
There were also reports of some passersby being roughed up by miscreants in Police Bazar and Butcher Road on Thursday.
Meanwhile, shops in major parts of the city closed their shutters down early on Thursday.
