BSF seizes liquor worth over Rs 65k

SHILLONG: The Border Security Force (BSF) seized 25 cases of liquor worth Rs 65, 916 on Friday while being smuggle to Bangladesh.
The BSF troops deployed at Border in South West Khasi Hills District got an information regarding smuggling of liquor from India to Bangladesh near Border Outpost Bagli Ex-170 BnBSF under Police station Barsora.
It is learnt that liquor were brought from Nongjuri, South West Khasi Hills District meant to smuggle to Bangladesh.
It may be mention that during this year, Sector BSF, Shillong has seized 1915 number of bottle costing Rs. 2,76,735 in border area.
BSF has stepped up its special drive against the racketeers of liquor under supervision of Shavtar Singh Shahi, Deputy Inspector General, Sector Shillong and has intensified its operations on the Indo-Bangladesh Border.
