SHILLONG: In the 7th Ardhendu Chaudhuri day & night tennis ball cricket tournament,organised by Rilbong Sports & Cultural Club under the artificial lighting system commenced on Monday at the the Rilbong Sanatan Hindu Dharmasabha premises. Four matches were held on Monday.
Young Guns defeated Lumparing Gorkha by 5 wickets. Lumparing batted first and scored 28 runs in 6 overs. In reply, Young Guns chased down the target in just 3.3 overs. In the second match of the day, Laban SC beat Rangkynsai by 17 runs. Laban SC scored 40 runs in 6 overs batting first, as Rangkynsai could only score 23 runs in 4.3 overs.
In the third match, Nongmynsong beat Tornado by 4 wickets.
Tornado batted first and could manage to score only 15 runs in 4 overs against a very good bowling side. In reply, Nongmynsong scored 16 runs in just 2.5 overs. In the last match of the day, Aparajita beat Royal SC by 9 runs. Aparajita batted first and scored 62 runs in 6 overs. In reply, Royal scored 54 runs in 6 overs.
