SHILLONG: The High Level Committee on Harijan Colony is likely to meet this month, sources said.
The sources said the committee has to be “very careful” in dealing with the issue and it is thoroughly studying all documents, which it has procured from departments concerned, to ensure an error-free result.
The state government formed the panel soon after violence broke out at Harijan Colony in 2018.
The High Level Committee on few occasions had asked the settlers to comply with the process but the residents did not submit their details to the Shillong Municipal Board.
HLC is mandated with the responsibility of examining all relevant records and documents concerning the residents of Harijan Colony and recommend ways for relocation.
