Shillong: On January 6, East Jaintia Hills Police detained one vehicle (WB-02W-8025) at Khliehriat, East Jaintia Hills, and on searching, 14.83 grams of suspected heroin was recovered from the vehicle.

Truck seized in violation of NGT order
SHILLONG: On January 7 around 4.30 am, a coal laden truck (AS-01DD-1655) driven by 24-year-old Kyrshanborlang Basaiawmoit reportedly jumped over the road divider at Nongpoh Downgate Ri-Bhoi, due to mechanical defect.
As a result, the truck was damaged and seized. A case is being registered for violation of NGT order.
