JOWAI: A Bangladeshi national who was detained by the villagers of Muktapur was found to be of unsound mind. Since he could not provide details about himself or any leads to previous cases, the villagers sent him back to Bangladesh after questioning him.
According to SP West Jaintia Hills, there have been previous cases where unsound Bangladeshi nationals would stray into India and after verification by villagers that they were not in good mental health, they would be sent back to Bangladesh with the help of the BSF.
