SHILLONG: As the lone Rajya Sabha seat will be vacant on April 12, the Chief Electoral Officer Frederick Kharkongor held a meeting with the Assembly officials to discuss the modalities of the poll.
The Election Commission of India will announce the poll date shortly, sources said adding that the election is likely to be held in March.
