SHILLONG: At least one minister protested against eight hours of power cut during the cabinet meeting held on Monday.
Sources, however, refused to name the minister but only said that he was vocal against the power cut which has affected the people of the state.
Prior to the cabinet meeting, the chief minister had met power officials to explore the ways and means to tide over the crisis.
The accumulated dues to NEEPCO and NTPC are the immediate cause of load shedding.
Due to the poor financial position, the state government is not able to clear the dues of Rs 625 crore to NEEPCO.
