NEW DELHI/ NEW YORK: The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) members will hold a closed door discussion on Kashmir at China’s request on Wednesday night.

Top diplomatic sources said that China has once again sought discussion on Kashmir, at the behest of Pakistan, at the UNSC.

“But China will raise it in consultations under other matters. Since its a closed door informal meet listed under any other business and without any official record, no outcome is expected,” an official source said.

Though France has noted China’s request, it has also reiterated its position on the issue that it should be addressed bilaterally by India and Pakistan.

Sources in the Ministry of External Affairs said that they are monitoring the developments at the UNSC closely and are prepared to counter China if it runs Pakistani propaganda on Kashmir.
