Petroleum conservation meet held in city

SHILLONG: The inaugural function of SAKSHAM– 2020 (Sanrakshan Kshamta Mahotsav) organised by Indian Oil Corporation Limited, to sensitise citizens about the need for petroleum conservation in Meghalaya, was held in the city on Thursday.
The inaugural function was chaired by M. Lyngdoh, Joint Director, Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs. The guest of honour for the event was S.S Syiemlieh, Joint Controller, Department of Legal Metrology.
The programme was attended by K. Mohan, Deputy General Manager, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Guwahati Divisional Office. The event was also attended by other government officials, officers of oil marketing companies, dealers of petrol pumps of the oil marketing companies, students of various schools and colleges and the people of Shillong. The inaugural function was followed by an open quiz contest for the students. Around 100 students participated in the quiz competition.
