SHILLONG: Swiggy, an online food ordering and delivery platform which was closed down in the city last year is active again.
Last year, the operations of the firm were shut down by the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) due to the want of trading license.
The former Executive member in-charge of Trade, Paul Lyngdoh said that the application of the firm for trading license was granted three weeks before the Executive Committee of the UDA collapsed. Lyngdoh said that their application was granted with two conditions that they must operate within the city limits and they must employ 500 local tribal youths.
