Shillong: Meghalaya had a long day in the field against Puducherry on the first day of their U-23 Col CK Nayudu Trophy match in Puducherry on Tuesday. Meghalaya won the toss and put the hosts in to bat first. Kishan Lyngdoh was able to dismiss one of the Puducherry openers fairly early in their innings but from then on Meghalaya’s opponents batted sensibly to reach 380/7 at stumps. The chief thorn in Meghalaya’s side was Paras Ratnaparkhe, who hit 183 before being dismissed by Adarsh Joshi. Lyngdoh finished the day with figures of 1/60, while Joshi claimed 1/70. However, the standout bowling performance was by that of Anish Charak, who grabbed 5/72.
