Shillong: The Meghalaya NSUI unit in a press statement questioned the Education Minister’s comment on the ill-effects of having political parties influence on education centres.
NSUI president, Bansharailang Pyngrope said, “ Student politics has undoubtedly played a significant role in regards to politics all over the world. Currently, numerous leading leaders in our country are also products of student politics. Educational institutions are not just places to study and learn from books, but also a place to develop our skills and  enhance our potential in various fields.”
He added that student politics should be emphasised for its pros instead of cons and should also be encouraged in order to systematically bring in young educated people into politics.
