Tripura seeks Israeli cooperation for agriculture, natural resource management

Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb sought cooperation from Israel on water and irrigation management, security surveillance system, food processing and packaging, technology transfer for cold storage management and enhancing agricultural production through ground water management, cultural and tourism promotion activities and advanced technology to maintain historical sites.
During his meet with Israeli Ambassador to India, Ron Malka, in New Delhi on Thursday, Deb held discussions on the potential areas of co-operation between Tripura and Israel. Israel also expressed its interest and agreed to visit the state soon with a team of experts to study the potential sectors of cooperation.
Deb however, pointed out that the food-processing industry in Tripura can be flourished with the assistance of Israeli technology, research support in food-processing technologies and methods including development of innovative products. (PTI)
