Religious meet
Bhagwat katha gyaan (religious discourse) by Harisaranji will be held at Meghalaya Hindu Mission, Lower Mawprem, Shillong, from February 10 to 16. The programme will be organised by Meghalaya Hindu Mission and Prabhat Pheri, Shillong.
Tribute
Meghalaya Koch Association, while paying tribute to warrior Chilarai (Sukladhawaj) on his 510th birth anniversary also known as the ‘Chilarai Divas’, organised a cultural event at Harigaon village near Rangira valley under South West Garo Hills on Sunday. Chilarai was the younger brother of Koch king Nara Narayan.
Arrest, seizure
The Excise staff of East Khasi Hills during the month of December, 2019, detected 24 cases with a seizure of 102.180 liters of i/d liquor and 13.260 liters IMFL. In this connection, 18 persons were arrested under Excise Act.
