SHILLONG: Aakriti Chen was crowned Miss Meghalaya 2020 held at Bakur Dawki recently.
Chen is also the reigning Miss Shillong and a student of Media Technologies in St. Anthony’s College.
Besides, she also won the subtitles of Miss Photogenic and Best Hair.
She will represent the state on a national level in Glamanand Entertainment Private Limited. Naphihunlang Warbah took home the First Runner- Up crown and the subtitle of Miss Personality. She is studying Bachelor of Social Work in St. Edmunds College.
Jayati Gurung, a student of St. Mary’s College, bagged the 2nd Runner- Up as well the subtitle of Best Smile.It was earlier announced that the runners-up will represent the state in the Miss Teen India pageant, but changes had to be made as they were above the age category.
Therefore, Silse Danggo Marak, a student of BBS College and one of the Top Five contestants, was selected to represent the state for Miss Teen India.
Kyrmen Shylla, Minister of Social Welfare, was the Chief Guest and Nujorki Sungoh, MLA, Mookaiaw was the Guest of Honour while Sub-Divisional Officer of Amlarem, Jacqueline Kharpuri, MCS was the Special Guest. The judges were Munish Singh, Director, ICCR, Amjad Khan, Director, Glamanand Supermodel India, Tanvi Malhara, Miss India Multinational, 2019 and Monika Aggarwal, Director, NIFT Shillong.
