SHILLONG: As part of the celebration of the two-day Spring Festival, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, on February 28, will open the Ribit Lake and Resort at Langkawet.
It may be mentioned that the resort at Langkawet is funded by the North Eastern Council (NEC) at Rs.1.45 crore.
The office of the SDO Pynursla Civil Sub-Division will hold the festival at Langkawet village, Raid Nongkhlieng on February 28, 29.
The SDO of Pynursla, D Hynniewta said the festival will be an annual event as the aim is to promote tourism in famous tourists spots of Mawlynnong, Mawryngkhang at Wahkhen, living root bridges at Nongblai and many others.
Sordar of Raid Nongkhlieng, Phonis Khongstid, said that the Raid has formed a Tourism Committee to monitor the tourism aspect.
