SHILLONG: Meghalaya Government Lower Primary School Contractual Teachers’ Association has urged the state government to regularise their contractual service.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, vice president of the association, Shining Kharsyntiew also expressed concern that 1200 teachers have appeared for the MTET in which only 10 per cent passed.
“These teachers have served for several years and some consideration should be given to them as they are over-age also. We request the government to hold the MTET examination again. We also want the state government to regularize our service,” he said.
The teachers are given 52 days of contractual work and then their services get extended.
