Illegal coal transportation
On February 24, around 11 am, police detected one truck (AS-11DC-2055) driven by Abdul Mannah Choudhury along with handyman Mustafa Ahamed Choudhury, while illegally transporting coal in violation of NGT order at Lad Sutnga, East Jaintia Hills.

One held for stealing
John KL Nonglait lodged a complaint that on February 26, between 12 am and 3 am, one Tirot Sing Khardewsaw (30) broke into his godown at Mawlai Nonglum, Block-IV and stole ladies sweaters. However, the accused was caught red-handed.

Vehicles stolen
Bablu Sonar lodged a complaint that on February 23, miscreants stole a Bolero from Phulbari, West Garo Hills.
Prakash Chettri lodged a complaint that on February 10, around 1 am, miscreants stole his truck (ML-06-8821) from Shallang Sohbar village, West Khasi Hills.

Cattle seized
On February 21, personnel of F-Coy, 123 Bn., BSF, intercepted some unidentified miscreants while they were herding cattle meant to be smuggled to Bangladesh at Ryngku, Mawsynram near Zero Point, East Khasi Hills. On seeing the BSF personnel, the miscreants pelted stones at them. Following this, BSF personnel Sudarshan Kumar fired three rounds; however, the miscreants managed to escape. Later, BSF personnel recovered eleven head of cattle from the place of occurrence.
